Fun Stuff


The Dartmouth baseball team will play a one-game, winner-take-all showdown for the Ivy League championship today at Columbia. The best-of-three Ivy League Championship Series is tied at 1-1 after Dartmouth won yesterday's first game in New York City, 7-6, and the host Lions came back to take the nightcap, 7-2. The No. 31 Dartmouth women's tennis team enjoyed its first-ever NCAA Championship appearance yesterday, earning a 4-1 win over William & Mary. The Big Green faces No. 2 North Carolina today. (LINK)

Interestingly, the matches are being played at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center, which honors the memory of John F. Kenfield, father of John Kenfield, the well-regarded Dartmouth tennis coach from 1967-83.
The Ivy League champion Dartmouth softball team learns its destination for the NCAAs when the draw is announced at 10 tonight.

The Indianapolis Colts' SB Nation site has a story about free agent Zach Hodges out of Harvard. (LINK) Colts' coach Chuck Pagano touched on the character revealed in Hodges' dramatic story and had this to say about his prospects:
He's got length, he's got speed, he's got burst, he's got power.  Again wearing shorts, it's hard to tell right now.  We know what the tape said so we've got a bunch of clay right now and we're going to start to mold that clay whether it's him or anybody else to see what kind of football player we can come up with."
