Looking Back Before Looking Ahead

The guess here is that a video highlighting the incoming recruiting class will be coming out shortly. In the meantime, it's interesting to take a look back at the video that was pulled together when this fall's seniors were heading to Dartmouth. Unfortunately it was shot underwater. (Just kidding about that last part, but click through and you'll see what I mean.)

Today's trivia: Eight FCS football teams will play four consecutive away games this fall. Two of them will be playing at Dartmouth during their lengthy road trips.

Sacred Heart will play at Valparaiso, Marist, Dartmouth and Robert Morris in consecutive games.

Yale will be at Lehigh, Dartmouth, Maine and Penn in consecutive weeks.
Dartmouth football, for the second year in a row, will alternate home and away games all season. The Big Green hasn't played consecutive road games in a season since 2011 when it played at Yale and at Holy Cross back-to-back.

The Ivy League champion Big Green softball team, meanwhile, is headed to Tallahassee, Fla., to start the double-elimination NCAA Tournament with a Friday game against No. 9 Florida State. Also in the pod are South Carolina and Central Florida. (LINK)
Keep your fingers crossed that the weather holds and Chicago Cubs play tonight at Wrigley. That Certain Dartmouth '14 is flying home from Chicago tomorrow and has tickets to see the Cubbies against the Mets tonight. It will be her third big league game already this season. She drove from Madison, Wis., to Milwaukee for a Brewers game and managed to sneak in a Giants game on a business trip to San Francisco.

Yup, she's a baseball fan. She keeps a pretty good scorebook and she can explain the double-switch to you if you are curious.

Longtime visitors to this electronic precinct may remember she played baseball through eighth grade, and even after becoming the starting centerfielder with the high school softball team as a freshman played summer baseball with the boys between her freshman and sophomore years.
