That's Telling 'Em!

Mrs. BGA bought her Harvard-Dartmouth ticket online through the Harvard ticket office and received an email survey asking about her experience. Part of the survey asked what they could do to improve the experience. Here's what she wrote:
"Shorten football games to 59:21."
Oh yes she did.

The fall issue of Peak, the quarterly publication of Dartmouth Peak Performance is out and I freelanced stories for the magazine on the Memorial Field renovation, the STRIVR virtual reality system that the football program is using, the changing role of the training staff and the Career Connections initiative where former athletes are helping current athletes find jobs.

Dartmouth Tops Graduation Rankings . . . Again

From a Dartmouth release:
The NCAA has released its annual student-athlete graduation rate survey, and Dartmouth College once again has been shown to lead the nation in Graduation Success Rate (GSR). With a GSR of 99 percent for student-athletes who began college in 2008, Dartmouth led Division I institutions for a fourth straight year, tying with Samford for the top spot.
Of the 24 NCAA-sponsored sports at Dartmouth, 19 had a perfect 100 percent GSR, as did the remainder of the non-NCAA-sponsored sports.
This is the 75th anniversary famed 5th Down Game between Cornell and Dartmouth. Given what took place between Miami and Duke it's more timely than ever to revisit the story. Watch the video and there's a little twist to the story that isn't always reported ;-)

Sports on Earth has a story about the 5th Down Game as well as this same video.
A good friend of BGA sent along a link to this video, which is just too delightful not to share. The kids in the piece are really, really good. Enjoy:

The video was a response to THIS ONE, which was good but not nearly as good ;-)
