Chicago Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks made history Friday, becoming the first starting pitcher since at least 1900 to allow one hit in a minimum of five innings, with that hit being a grand slam, according to ESPNChicago.com. . . .
Hendricks recorded five strikeouts but departed with the game tied, giving him his first no-decision since May 11 against the San Diego Padres. His record remained at 5-6 while his ERA improved from 2.94 to 2.76.Chicago won, 5-4.
