Nothing But Net

A couple of notes out of the Dartmouth basketball world this morning.

Evan Boudreaux, the 6-foot-8 junior who left the Big Green program shortly before the first game, has committed to play his final two years as a "graduate transfer" at Xavier of the Big East. Find a Cincinnati.com story HERE.
Flinder Boyd '02, the terrific point guard at Dartmouth who went on to have a 10-year professional career in Europe, is also a gifted writer. A Sports Illustrated listing of the great sportswriting of the past year includes Boyd's long-form story about Joe McKnight, the onetime NFL running back who was shot and killed last year in what has been termed a road-rage incident in New Orleans. Find the must-read story HERE.

As an aside, Boyd's name is actually Isak Justin Flinder Boyd. The Isak? He was named after the writer Isak Dinensen.
OK, as long as today's theme is basketball, here's one more. The Dartmouth women's basketball team stunned Colorado in Boulder last night, 81-75. The Buffaloes came into the game with a 7-1 mark. Dartmouth is now 7-2. Colorado's only previous loss was at North Carolina in overtime. Find a story HERE.
