Joe Yukica Still Teeing It Up

Had a chance to catch up with Joe Yukica Jr., while working the Tommy Keane Invitational golf tournament at Hanover Country Club yesterday and asked about his dad, who Joe reported continues to play golf several times a week at age 87.

Joe Yukica, who stepped down as successful head coach at Boston College to head up the Dartmouth football program from 1978-86 (imagine that happening today!), was inducted last month into Pennsylvania's Lou Holtz/Upper Ohio Valley Hall of Fame. (LINK)

Joe Jr., who played in the TKI with son Mike, kindly shared this photo of his dad (left) and his uncle, Stan, flanking Lou Holtz:

The Tommy Keane Invitational wraps up today. The semifinals of the Championship Flight feature two names that should be familiar to longtime Dartmouth followers. Scott Peters, son of former Dartmouth athletic director Seaver Peters, is in one semi and brothers Nate and Phin Choukas, grandsons of Mike Choukas, Dartmouth's Director of Alumni Affairs Emeritus, is in the other. Check out the story I wrote about the Choukas boys yesterday HERE.
