On To Columbia

Here are some ever-so-brief highlights from the Columbia-Penn game. Dartmouth visits Columbia Saturday afternoon.

The Columbia Spectator has a story coming out of Penn under the headline, Point After: Despite football’s defeat to Penn, the team has improved over the course of the season. From the story:
There were certainly areas in which this team could improve, but in a year where a regression was expected—adding on the massive amount of injuries the team has suffered—the team’s performance was not particularly poor.
Checking in with the Massey Rating system, it has Dartmouth defeating Columbia, 29-10 with 91 percent certainty and then staying perfect in another week with a 31-10 win over Harvard with 94 percent certainty.

Princeton, meanwhile, will handle Harvard this week, 34-21, with 83 percent certainty according to Massey. The Tigers will keep pace with Dartmouth and set up the Ivy League game of the year with a 38-17 win over Cornell with 93 percent certainty per Massey.

As for the Nov. 3 battle of the titans in New Jersey, Massey sees that as a 28-27 game. The winner? With 51 percent certainty (Can there be any certainty if it’s 51 percent?) is . . . Princeton.
The Harvard Crimson looks at the Ivy League kickoff adjustment and its role in reducing concussions.
With the season at the halfway point and only Ivy League games remaining it’s time for another edition of Ask The Coach. If you have a question you’d like me to ask Buddy Teevens, CLICK HERE TO SEND A QUESTION. That will address an email to me with the subject line, QuestionsForCoach.

I'll select a sampling of submissions and post the coach's answers on BGA Premium on Thursday. For those of you who are not subscribers, I will make the Q&A available on Monday.
