The Finale

It could have been a lot worse at gametime ;-)

Best quote from the latest story on Callie Brownson, the Dartmouth quality control assistant:
“I wanted to make sure I covered all the ground, but I didn’t know what that ground was,” Brownson said. “Being the first looks good on paper and those headlines are sweet, but in reality it’s more stressful.
“The minute I lose focus or look tired, people will say ‘I told you women weren’t capable of this’. That’s a big burden to carry, but the people I work with lighten it every day.”
Find the full story in the Valley News.
GoLocalProv has a capsule look at Dartmouth-Brown HERE.
If you haven't been keeping up on BGA Premium, by all means go back over the past three days and read the comments from Dartmouth coach Buddy Teevens on each of the seniors. There's a genuine and recurring theme of players making sacrifices for the team and for each other.

If you think it's easy being an Ivy League football player be sure to read a tremendously well-written and thoughtful column in the Yale Daily News by special teams player Alex Galland. (LINK)
Elsewhere today, the Princeton-Penn game kicks off at 1 p.m. There will surely be a lot of phones in the stands watching for updates. As if you needed the reminder, Dartmouth needs a win over Brown  and a stumble by undefeated Princeton to grab a share of the Ivy League title with the Tigers.
In New York City Columbia is plays Cornell with a chance to clinch its first back-to-back winning seasons since 1961-62 with a win in the Empire State Bowl.
And there's another Ivy League game in Boston ;-)
With Army on the Dartmouth schedule in 2022 it will be instructive to see how the Colgate-Army game turns out today. Colgate is 9-0 and ranked 6th in the FCS Coaches Poll (Princeton is 9th and Dartmouth 20th) while Army is 8-2. From a STATS capsule:
While Army's triple option offense ranks second in the FBS in rushing yards per game (307.2), Colgate has allowed only one rushing touchdown this season, outscoring opponents 287-29, including five shutouts.
Colgate gave up its first touchdown since Sept. 1 last week.

That game is available at noon on the CBSSports Network.
And finally, That Certain Dartmouth '14-turned National Park Ranger arrived home last evening and will be at the game. She hasn't been at a game in several years because she's been on duty out at Yellowstone in the fall but it's a safe bet there isn't another woman graduate of the college who has been to as many Big Green games given that she started making road trips to games in a backpack, ran around the stands as a toddler, handed out stats in the press box as a middle-schooler and worked in sports information as a Dartmouth student.
