Manning Up (At Yale)

Distinguished American Award recipient Archie Manning had this to say at the Walter Camp Dinner at Yale University:
“Being down South it’s kind of hard, but I try to keep up with the Ivy League. Buddy Teevens still runs our football camp, has for 23 years, so I keep up with Dartmouth. Buddy’s a good guy."

Kudos to the Dartmouth men's basketball team for an emphatic, 81-63 win over Harvard last night in front of 1,452 at Leede Arena. It was the Big Green's first Ivy League-opening win in a dozen years. (LINK)

Something to think about: North Carolina beat Harvard by 20 points. In a game that was actually more important to Harvard, Dartmouth beat the Crimson by 18.

The Big Green is now 10-7. Harvard drops below .500 at 6-7.
While the men's hoop team was enjoying its win over Harvard the Dartmouth men's hockey team was putting a 5-0 hurt on defending league champion Princeton. (LINK) The Big Green is now 6-8-2 overall and 5-3-2 in the ECAC while Princeton is 6-11-2 and 4-7-1.
Speaking of Dartmouth ice hockey, Tris Wykes of the Valley News has a lengthy look at the life of former Big Green men's and women's coach George Crowe HERE. Crowe died last week at 82.
