Pete Lembo, who went on to a successful head coaching career at three schools after cutting his teeth as an assistant at Dartmouth for several years in the mid-'90s (including the 10-0 season in '96) is apparently leaving Rice to head up special teams at Memphis. (LINK)

Don't look for Patriot League defensive player of the year TJ Holl when Colgate visits Dartmouth in September. The standout linebacker who had 121 tackles last fall – including 18 against Army – is considering graduate transfer offers from Tulane, Louisville and North Dakota State among others, according to published reports and his Twitter account.

George Crowe, who coached Dartmouth men's ice hockey from 1975-84 and then headed up the women's program from 1986-98 has died in Florida at age 82. (LINK) More than a successful coach, George was a nice man and a friend. He will be missed.

In case you are wondering, among those affected by the government shutdown is That Certain Dartmouth '14-turned-educational ranger. After wrapping up her summer at Glacier Bay National Park and the fall at Yellowstone, she was slated to begin her second winter at Grand Canyon. Instead, she is in limbo in Arizona, unable to move into her government housing and wondering when she'll be able to start work.
