Snow Kidding

Dartmouth has a pretty fair record for ruining stadium celebrations (right Harvard?) and it will have another chance in the fall according to a story in the Daily Pennsylvanian outlining a "125 Years of Franklin Field" commemoration. From THE DP (italics are mine):
According to the Athletics Department, which announced this initiative on Thursday, these events include special programming at the 2019 Penn Relays, held Apr. 25-27, and at next season’s football home opener against Dartmouth on Oct. 5.
Joe Moglia, the onetime Dartmouth defensive assistant who went on to serve as chairman and CEO of TD Ameritrade only to return to football as head coach at Coastal Carolina in 2012, is stepping down at Coastal although he will stay on as a school's "chairman of athletics." Myrtle Beach Online has a story that includes the text of a letter Moglia wrote announcing his decision HERE.
It's another recruiting weekend in Hanover and while it's not as cold as it has been – or will be in a few days – depending on their schedules the young men in town will get a real taste of a New Hampshire winter. Snow is slated to start in mid-afternoon and by the time it stops the forecasters are predicting anywhere from one to two feet of the white stuff.
So you know, our school year rental while we look for our next home is in a heavily wooded community known for losing power, which has happened twice already this winter. Given that the wet snow we got last week froze in place – and is still making the pine and birch boughs droop – and that a pile more snow is expected, we've charged all of our lanterns and flashlights and dug out sleeping bags to stay warm if and when the power goes out. Last month it was out for 36 hours but several years ago the folks around here lost power for a lot longer. If BGA Daily does dark again don't say you weren't warned ;-)
