Heroic Effort

Hero Sports has named its 2019 FCS Preseason All-America teams and Dartmouth corner Isiah Swann, who led the nation in interceptions last fall, is the lone Ivy Leaguer named to the first team.

The only other Ivy players to be recognized are Princeton defensive back TJ Floyd on the second team and Harvard running back Aaron Shampklin on the third team.

Dartmouth's opponent in the home opener, Colgate, had two players honored. Defensive lineman Nick Wheeler was selected to the first team and offensive lineman Jack Badovinac was chosen for the third team.

Green Alert Take: When Hero Sports names teams like this or tries to rank recruiting classes I often think of the Robert Browning line about a "man's reach should exceed his grasp." The Hero folks certainly haven't seen all of their preseason All-America picks and you know they are going on press clippings and internet "offers" when ranking recruits. They are taking on an impossible task but hey, at least they are trying.
Dartmouth has released its official football recruiting class HERE. If you've been following BGA Daily you've seen the same list a few times before but now it's officially official ;-)
Other Ivy schools that have released their recruiting classes are BROWN, HARVARD and PENN.
Callie Brownson, Dartmouth's recruiting director/quality control assistant will be spending a little time with the Atlanta Falcons as a Bill Walsh coaching fellow at the team's veteran minicamp Tuesday through Thursday per the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
