Signing Day Kicks Off

As most of you know, the Ivy League does not recognize the National Letter of Intent, but given how big Signing Day has become (at least until the advent last year of the December Signing Day) a majority of Ivy League-bound athletes "sign" non-binding letters to celebrate along with their classmates.

Each year BGA has collected and posted photos from these celebrations in this space. The past several years the number of photos sent this way has diminished so it remains to be seen how active this site will be during the day today, but if there are new photos they will be posted here hourly, so be sure to check back throughout the day.

To share photos please CLICK HERE to address an email to BGA with the subject line, SigningDay.

And yes, it's perfectly OK by NCAA and Ivy League rules ;-)
The News-Miner (great name, by the way) up in Fairbanks has a quick blurb on 6-foot-4, 235-pound Lathrop quarterback Jace Henry choosing to commit to Dartmouth HERE.
The charts posted in this space yesterday were pretty accurate but as usual crowd-sourced proofreading was BGA's best friend.

Somehow in the first iteration I managed to leave out rising junior John Paul Flores, who only figures to be the anchor of the offensive line for the next two years. He was a starter all last fall. He's been added along with linebacker Patrick Wright. The rising sophomore was Dartmouth's leading tackler in the lone junior varsity game last fall, posting eight tackles and a big hit that went in the books as a pass breakup when the receiver could not hold on. Apologies to both players. The mistakes were all on me.

In email this morning was a reminder that defensive back DJ Avery has another year and will return for his medical redshirt senior season. The chart has been updated to reflect that.
With the preliminaries out of the way, here's what we think we know about the incoming recruiting class. As usual, heights, weights and positions are best guesses. (Using the link above to send corrections.) There will likely be anywhere from two to five additional names added to this list. Whether they will be uncovered today remains to be seen.
