'Harry B."

People magazine has a story in which Seattle Seahawks' quarterback Russell Wilson honors his late father Harry '77, a football/baseball player at Dartmouth. Find the story about the son's love for a man his teammates and classmates called "Harry B." HERE.
Men's track and field and cross country have come off the chopping block at Brown. This outtake from Brown President Christina Paxson appeared in a story about the reversal in the Providence Journal:
“We have heard clearly from our community over the past couple of weeks that the University’s decision to transition men’s varsity track, field and cross country to club status will have real and lasting implications for efforts to build and sustain diverse and inclusive communities for our students at Brown, and particularly our community of black students and alumni.”

A Football Scoop story under the headline, The Canadian college football season is almost completely canceled includes this (LINK):
“Although the Canadian sport system is working together to create evidence-based return to training, practice and competition protocols, it is not currently feasible or safe due to the COVID-19 Pandemic for U SPORTS to be able to offer fall championships given the academic realities of student-sport,” said Dr. Taryn Taylor, U SPORTS Chief Medical Officer and representative on the Own the Podium Return to Sport Task Force.
U Sports is the Canadian equivalent to the NCAA. The Quebec Student Sports Federation is the only conference north of the border that hasn't yet canceled the fall season. More from Football Scoop:
If and when the QSSF cancels its fall 2020 sporting calendar, Vancouver’s Simon Fraser University, which competes in NCAA Division II, could be the only Canadian university to compete in football this fall.
Even Simon Fraser may not play, however, because it has games scheduled in Texas, California, Oregon and Washington this fall (LINK), and a 14-day quarantine is required per Canadian law after international travel.
A movement started at Georgia Tech at the suggestion of basketball player Malachi Rice – whose older brother Solomon was a long distance runner at Columbia – is taking hold behind the push of Tech associate head coach Eric Reveno. Find the story HERE.

EXTRA POINT
At an elevation of 7,750 feet Western Colorado University's Mountaineer Bowl is billed as "the highest college football field in the world." Apparently that air isn't thin enough for That Certain Dartmouth '14 – who is working on her Master in Environmental Management at the university by night while working as a park ranger during the day. She shared this photo from a hike she did up Mount Elbert several days ago (and no, that's not the time on her GPS watch ;-).
