EXTRA POINT
The temperature here last week hit 90 degrees and when it got stuffy in the house Griff the Wonder Dog and I headed down to the basement where it was a good deal cooler. I was working on my laptop trying to get comfortable when a thought occurred to me:

Whoever though a futon was a good idea?

We have a futon with a blue "mattress" in the finished part of our basement and as someone who worked as a furniture mover between college and grad school, I've got to tell you they are not my favorite things. With their solid wood frames they are surprisingly heavy, awkward to tie up and move, they munch on fingers when you try to angle them through a door, and wrestling those nasty mattresses is a pain. Futons aren't particularly comfortable to sit on, are worse to nap on as you roll down into the mattress crease, and when you pull them out they are like sleeping on a sack of potatoes. Yeah, I'm not a fan.
