We're back after a relaxing weekend off-the-grid in our '84 VW poptop Westfalia camper. While we were gone eagle-eyed BGA readers sent along tips about a couple of athletes intending to continue their academic and football careers at Dartmouth.
Keoni Perkins is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive end from Grand Prairie, Texas and South Grand Prairie High School. He checked in at No. 57 in a list of the best defensive linemen in the state as compiled by TX TOP Talent. Perkins camped at Harvard as well as Dartmouth and held an offer from Columbia per his Twitter. Here's his commitment Tweet:

A first-team All-Region 2-6A selection, he was named a 6A All-State Honorable Mention pick by Recruit Georgia and played for Georgia's Coastal Empire team against South Carolina's Lowcountry team in the Blitz Border Bowl. Noontime Sports has a story headlined Five New England FCS Squads to Watch This Fall that includes both Dartmouth and Harvard. Of the Big Green, the story writes (LINK):
Quarterback Nick Howard is going to be a player to watch on the Big Green this fall. The Green Bay, Wisconsin native, which earned a spot on the All-Ivy League first team, was one of nine FCS student-athletes to rush for 15 touchdowns or more last fall. He, along with linebacker Marques White and wide receiver Paxton Scott, will be tasked with leading a Dartmouth squad that seeks its third-straight Ivy League title.
The Harvard entry includes this:
Coach Tim Murphy’s Crimson enjoyed a successful season last fall, despite falling short of finishing in a three-way tie with Dartmouth and Princeton University atop the Ancient Eight standings.
Green Alert Take: This is nitpicking at its worst but given that one-loss Dartmouth beat both Harvard and Princeton, when Harvard and Princeton someone was going to be saddled with a second loss. Therefore there was no way Dartmouth, Princeton and Harvard could have finished in a three-way tie, right?

EXTRA POINT
Because we bought an EV last summer when I pulled into a gas station late last week to fill up our vintage VW camper bus in advance of our weekend away I struggled to remember the last time I'd put a nozzle into a tank. I might have filled up Mrs. BGA's car once, but I'm not sure. Apart from that it had been a full year since I'd gassed up. I'd seen the prices posted at stations as I drove by of course, but I have to admit it was a shock when the pump clicked off at $50.15.
