50-Plus

It's another quiet day here at the BGA World Headquarters, so it's as good a time as any to take another dip into the Dartmouth record books. Here are the games in which the Big Green has scored 50 or more points:

Watch and listen as Matt Kaskey '19 plows open a hole for the USFL's Birmingham Stallions, getting Dartmouth a quick mention. The 6-foot-7, 325-pound Kaskey is number 63:

Saw a release noting that William Woods University in Fulton, Mo. isn't just starting a football team, but will also field a women's intercollegiate flag football team. (LINK)

A TV report featuring interviews with the William Woods athletic director and school president talking about the addition of football teams (plural) can be found HERE.

As it turns out the NAIA sponsors women's flag football as an "emerging sport." The NAIA page with information about the sport can be found HERE.

EXTRA POINT
We should be getting our '84 VW Westfalia poptop camper back from the "bus whisperer" at week's end. When we spoke last week he asked if there was anything I needed him to look at in particular,  apart from the obvious – that it wouldn't start. ;-)

I told him while I realize brakes on an older vehicle like that could never compare to brakes on today's cars, I didn't think they were quite as effective as should be. He called a couple of days ago to say he took it for a drive and he agreed they weren't up to par, walking me through the problem and the solution. Then he asked if I wanted him to proceed.

Now, if he'd asked about fix the air conditioning, which hasn't worked since we bought the bus in 1994, or installing a backup camera – which I don't think had even been invented in '94 – I might have had to think twice before telling him no. Getting the brakes up to speed, so to speak? That one was a no-brainer.
