Well-Earned

From a Maxwell Football Club press release regarding Chip Kelly recently earning the weekly Buddy Teevens Award (LINK):

The Buddy Teevens Award was created to honor those coaches who’ve been innovators in growing and improving the game of college football. Named after the legendary Dartmouth College coach, the award recognizes outstanding achievement on the field, as well exceptional leadership that leaves a lasting impact on players, other coaches, and the sport at large. Throughout the season, the Maxwell Football Club will showcase current coaches who have led, innovated, and positively impacted the game in the spirit of Coach Teevens.

Apart from the shorts (pants and shirt) Dartmouth will be going a little old school for Saturday's finale against Brown as this graphic from the program's social media reveals:

As a CFL rookie back in 2018 Flo Orimolade '17 helped the Calgary Stampeders earn the Grey Cup with a win over the Ottawa Redblacks. He signed a free agent contract with the Toronto Argonauts in February of 2023 and last week, capped his second season with the team by winning his second Grey Cup.

Dartmouth social media gives kudos to the former Bushnell Cup winner as the outstanding defensive player in the Ivy League:

From a story last January about Orimolade (LINK):

Orimolade had a career year in his first season in Double Blue after the team landed him as one of their prized free agents last offseason. Orimolade lived up to his lofty billing in 2023 after posting a team-leading 10 sacks. He also registered 36 tackles, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries while being named a Division All-Star.

The 5-11, 238-pound edge-rushing Dartmouth alum joined Toronto after playing four seasons with the Calgary Stampeders.  His contract extension keeps him off the open market until 2026.

The Tussle has a way to go to catch up to The Rivalry, but at least the Big Green got a little free pub in an advance about Lehigh-Lafayette already having sold out Lehigh's 16,000-seat Goodman Stadium. Check out the photo from last fall's game in Hanover (LINK):

EXTRA POINT
With Mrs. BGA doing a volunteer stint at the free health clinic this afternoon and your daily correspondent planning to stop by Dartmouth football practice to get some insights from Sammy McCorkle ahead of Saturday's game, we need to be in the Upper Valley at the same time today. That being the case, we are heading down early to test drive a new electric car. To be clear, we're not actively car shopping, but given the anticipated end of the EV tax credit and rebate programs, it seems to make sense to at least consider our options given that our solar tracker has all but eliminated our electric bill.
