After a little hiatus, blue jays returned en force to our video birdfeeder this morning, and I'm here to tell you they are pretty nasty to other birds who want to stop by for a snack. The jays are beautiful birds but they do have an attitude. I'll never forget when we were just married and brought our new kitten, Hattie, outside for the very first time. She was a tiny, little thing innocently chasing grass blowing in the wind when a blue jay swooped down and feigned an attack on her. I'm not sure who was more traumatized – the kitten or us.
