Here We Go

Breaking News: If your TV provider is YouTube TV, good luck trying to watch Dartmouth-Harvard football on ESPN+ tomorrow unless cooler heads prevail. The USA Today headline, Disney pulls ABC, ESPN channels from YouTube TV after contract dispute sent me scurrying to my TV this morning, and when I tried to pull up ESPN+ I got a message that it is not available to me. That despite the fact that I pay for it! I had hoped to do a little more Harvard scouting to better prepare for what I'm going to see down there tomorrow. Oh well. Here's hoping the issue is resolved quickly.

Dartmouth's game notes for Saturday have been posted HERE.

I had a chance to talk with Dartmouth coach Sammy McCorkle after watching yesterday's practice and will have the Harvard preview on BGA Overtime tonight. In the meantime, here's what McCorkle has to say in quick video provided by the sports information office:

The Harvard Crimson has a preview headlined No. 12 Harvard Faces Toughest Matchup Yet on Saturday Against Dartmouth (LINK). The story includes this from Harvard coach Andrew Aurich, that I promise you some players at Dartmouth would dispute:

“Every time we play an Ivy League school, the players at that school wanted to be at Harvard, and they didn’t get the opportunity. They’re gonna throw their best punch, and if they land it, they’re gonna keep throwing punches.”

Green Alert Take: I guess Coach Aurich, who played at Princeton, was turned down by Harvard, huh?

The Underdog Dynasty site has a through preview of tomorrow's game HERE that features sections titled The Coaches, Dartmouth Offense vs. Harvard Defense, Harvard Offense vs. Dartmouth Defense and Prediction.

If you just want to jump to the bottom line, the site sees Harvard winning, 27-19.

HERO Sports has its weekly predictions and Dartmouth-Harvard gets a few paragraphs as one of the three featured games. HERO's prediction: Harvard 28, Dartmouth 17. (LINK)

The SI affiliated FCS Football Central has an update of its Top 10 FCS Prospects In The 2026 NFL Draft column and it features three Ivy Leaguers, including this about Dartmouth tight end Chris Corbo, who it ranks eighth overall among the draft prospects (LINK):

Chris Corbo is still the top tight end prospect in the FCS, and he is having a solid year. He is on pace to surpass his career highs in catches and receiving yards. Although the numbers are not impressive, his ability to be a plus run blocker has helped his case for why he deserves to be in the Top 10.

On the season, Corbo has totaled 25 receptions, 258 yards receiving, one receiving touchdown, 121 yards after the catch, 10 first down receptions, seven explosive receptions, 7.7 average depth of target, and 1.77 yards per route run.

Harvard quarterback Jaden Craig is listed as the No. 6 prospect in the FCS and Penn wide receiver Jared Richardson comes in at No. 3.

EXTRA POINT

I'm not a hunter so when I saw someone trudging across our field in a heavy rain early this morning wearing a bright orange vest and carrying a shotgun I Googled the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department page listing hunting seasons. If I read it right, it's turkey season through Sunday, and that's my guess for the first hunter I've spotted on our land in six years here at our Vermont hillside home.

We had a large "rafter" of turkeys poking around under our apple trees yesterday but let's keep that between us for a few days, OK?
