Pidermann was the Big Green's fourth-leading tackler last fall with 55 stops. He had three pass breakups, four passes defended, two blocked kicks (one to save the win over Cornell) and one interception. He finished his career with 166 tackles, a 70-yard touchdown run with an interception and an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. He was the winner of Dartmouth's Kenneth T. Young Award as the most valuable underclassman as a junior and the Bob Blackman Trophy as the Dartmouth MVP last fall. He was chosen to the All-Ivy League second team. (Photo courtesy of Dartmouth)

Occasionally there are Dartmouth football souvenirs that I can understand buying. But paying $200 for this one? You make the call.*
It's official. There are now three head men's basketball coaching positions open in the Ivy League with confirmation that Columbia coach Joe Jones will be leaving to become the associate head coach at Boston College.*
I'm heading out shortly to meet with several other Hanover Little League coaches and a consultant to talk about how to bring our new field up to par ... or closer to par. Last week the temperature here hit 80 degrees. This morning it is exactly 32 degrees with flurries and brisk breezes up here on the mountain. It doesn't really seem like baseball season, but after our meeting I'll park myself in the stands at gorgeous Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park (click here for video highlights of inaugural game) and watch the Big Green take on Columbia in its Ivy League home opener. I think I'll bring a blanket ;-)
