D-feating Harvard

On the way to another Ivy League championship the 1992 Dartmouth football team steamrolled Harvard, 31-7. Season tackling leaders Josh Bloom and Mike Phillips, sack specialist George Neos,  interception leader Jim McGeehan and the rest of the defense will enjoy watching this just-posted video from the game, which saw the Big Green build a 31-0 lead after three quarters.

Quarterback Jay Fiedler, who broke the Dartmouth single-season record for TD passes against the Crimson, receiver Matt Brzica, who topped the century mark in yards gained and kicker Dennis Durkin might not want to spend much time watching because all it shows is the Harvard offense and Dartmouth defense.

That said, if you are a Dartmouth partisan there's nothing as satisfying as watching a win over Harvard, even if you only get to see half of the game ;-)

You can read an AP writeup of the game HERE.

Speaking of defense Athlon has posted a story under the headline, FCS College Football: 5 Favorites for the 2019 Buck Buchanan Award. Not surprisingly, the handful of players written  up come from  traditional FCS powerhouses like North Dakota State, South Dakota State and Montana. Ah, but three more players are listed as "Leading Candidates," and one of them is Dartmouth corner Isiah Swann. (LINK)
