Big Green's Big Guy

As part of the never-ending push to bring talented players to Hanover, the Dartmouth football office produced this graphic of former All-Ivy League offensive tackle Matt Kaskey, who spent most of last season with the Carolina Panthers' practice squad before being elevated to the active roster at season's end.
Clemson is reporting 21 football players and two football staff members as testing positive for the coronavirus. (LINK)

Down Under, meanwhile, an Australian Rules football game was called off after a player who had self-quarantined for two weeks after returning from Ireland tested positive. The season had resumed just more than a week ago. (LINK)

And Nick Watney, in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage golf tournament, withdrew from the tournament before the second round after a positive test. (LINK)

Green Alert Take: Don't make those travel plans for the fall just yet.
It's Saturday and you've got the time to check out what is billed as, "a musical celebration of the best-loved places on and about the Dartmouth campus by award-winning composer Oliver Caplan ’04, performed by the Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble." In the first minute there is a still shot of Dartmouth coach Buddy Teevens leading the football team onto the field:

If you stick around until the 25-minute mark (or scroll ahead as I did) you'll hear the bells of Baker Tower playing Dear Old Dartmouth and see a slide of of the Tower behind the wind ensemble. Whether by accident or intentionally, the slide is cropped just below the weather vane.
EXTRA POINT
With no shade trees nearby, the sun baking our house all day and no air conditioning, it got a little toasty here yesterday.

Not to worry. When I headed down to our finished basement in late afternoon to catch a little Golf Channel action I actually had to grab an afghan against the cool air.

Here's something I learned: Because our upstairs TV has the ability to seamlessly pause and rewind action I've gotten a little lazy about paying attention when there are graphics on the screen. I just hit the back button and replay what I missed. Without that capability it probably wasn't until the third time they showed the full leaderboard yesterday that I knew who was winning ;-)
