A failed physical – no reason given – has ended former Dartmouth corner Isiah Swann's hopes of joining the Cincinnati Bengals at training camp this summer. Find a story HERE.

Years ago Rochester, NY., broadcaster Bill Pucko, who hosts the video series that produced the episode below last week that has Jared Gerbino in the screenshot, was on local TV around here. Unfortunately, the description attached to this video is a little presumptive:
The smartest schools in the country are moving their football season, due to COVID19.
While Pucko & Co. jumped to a conclusion about spring football, the gist of their discussion is still of interest: Would spring football be a good thing?
Green Alert Take: Whether the Ivy League will or won't play football in the spring will not be decided until January. Exactly how they would manage to play sports with just half of the students on campus at Dartmouth and Harvard for the rest of the year, and only three classes in residence at Yale remains a mystery.

Following up on Kyle Hendricks' three-hit shutout in the Chicago Cubs opener, Dartmouth classmate Cole Sulser earned a six-out save for the Baltimore Orioles against the Boston Red Sox yesterday. He struck out two, allowed one hit and no walks in two scoreless innings.

Meant to post this yesterday but the story I wrote for Saturday's Tommy Keane Invitational blog revolved around Seaver Peters, the former Dartmouth athletic director and Big Green football supporter who was a major force in establishing and running the TKI. (LINK)

EXTRA POINT
It is safe to say that given COVID-19 and the decision not to have intercollegiate athletic competition at Dartmouth this fall, I'm not doing much driving these days.
Yesterday, however, I hopped in my cherry red Honda Fit and zipped 65 miles down the interstates to New London, NH to help spread the word about the Keane golf tournament. On the way home I need to stop for gas and something cold to drink after a long afternoon walking the course. I drove up to the pump, pulled the thingie that opens the door to the gas tank and got out to fill up. Oops, I'd forgotten which side the fuel door was on and had to drive around to another pump. (In the interest of full disclosure, when I circled around to the other island I did the same thing. That wasn't because I had forgotten but because I can be a ditz.)
Interestingly, our insurance agent called on Friday to take inventory of our current driving habits and make an adjustment to our rates.……
Oh, and one more thing. If you haven't spent much time in your car lately or wonder which side needs to be next to the pump with a rental, take a look at the gas icon on your dashboard. Most of them have subtle little arrow pointing at which side should face the tank. Next time I'll take my own advice ;-)
