Speaking of punting, the "National Football State Leaders" database compiled by MaxPreps lists Dartmouth recruit Davis Golick as the only high school punter this fall to average 40-plus yards while punting at least 50 times. Per MaxPreps, the senior from Georgia's Woodward Academy averaged 41.1 yards on exactly 50 punts with a long of 75 in his final game and 18 kicks inside the 20. PennLive has named its defensive all-star team for the central Pennsylvania area and Dartmouth-bound defensive back Carson Franks of State College High School has been named to the second team. PennLive wrote (LINK):
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior, who is committed to Dartmouth, was the Little Lions most consistent defender, logging 57 tackles with two interceptions, three passes defensed and two fumble recoveries.

EXTRA POINT
Santa stopped by and dropped off a pair of cross country skis and boots on his trip through Vermont this year.

Unfortunately, heavy rain that started late Christmas Eve and continued into the early morning hours of Christmas Day washed away every last bit of our snow. We didn't get the 44 inches last week that some towns south of Hanover received, but a good deal of the eight inches that fell here were still on the ground Thursday morning. Twenty-four hours later there was no snow to be seen.

Timing is everything.
