Jones had 332 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-38 playoff win over No. 3 Ponderosa in the Trojans' playoff opener. They advanced to the Class4A semifinals.

In a TV report Jones talks about the importance of education in allowing him to help his family:

Here's a TV report from earlier in the fall when he was leading Colorado in rushing:

Dartmouth assistant coach Duane Brooks' role in helping Niko Lalos earn a spot in the NFL has been well-documented. Turns out, Brooks also helped Lalos' defensive coordinator with the New York Giants find his way. From a story posted by northjersey.com about Patrick Graham's journey from Yale, to doing PR for an investment firm in Cincinnati, and back to football (LINK):
Patrick kept calling, 'Coach, I hate this job, I hate this job,' and I'd say to him, 'Why don’t you become a football coach?'" Brooks, now the defensive line coach at Dartmouth, told NorthJersey.com and USA TODAY Network on Thursday. "He didn't want anything to do with coaching, and not because he couldn't do it. He saw the grind through me, he was hesitant. I said, 'OK, how about this - you go to a place, you get your Masters [of Business Administration], and if you don't like it, at least you have your Masters. So he bought in, and the rest is, you know, history."

Yale will visit UConn for a football game in the fall. It will be the 50th all-time meeting between the schools but the first in 22 years. The Bulldogs lead the series, 32-17. (LINK

Pitt joins Boston College in announcing it will not accept a bowl bid this year. The Panthers, like BC, finished the year 6-5.

EXTRA POINT
A happy birthday to Mrs. BGA, a fixture at Dartmouth football games since before our kids were born. BGA simply wouldn't be possible without her.
