Carolina On His Mind

The Dartmouth has a story about former All-America offensive tackle Matt Kaskey '19 finally getting on the field with the Carolina Panthers. From the school paper (LINK):

Kaskey’s newly signed contract keeps him in Carolina through the 2022 season, so if he impresses in training camps and team activities this offseason, he may get the opportunity to make it back on the field.
“I still have to come into camp and earn my spot on the team because they still have the right to cut me or waive me,” Kaskey said. “… But if things go well, I'll be here for at least the next year.”

HERO Sports has a piece under the headline, How Did 2020 FCS-To-FBS Transfers Do? that includes these numbers put up – or not put up – by Ivy League expats (LINK):

The Dartmouth has a follow story detailing some of the efforts the college is making to give students more outdoor opportunities in this winter of COVID-19. From the story (LINK):
According to outdoor rentals manager Mike Silverman, the two ice rinks will be located parallel to each other on the northern end of the Green in front of Baker-Berry Library. They will operate from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, with two tower lights keeping the rinks illuminated in the evening.

And . . .

(A) new Winter Activities Center has been established to facilitate other outdoor opportunities on and around the golf course. Operating from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends out of the former Hanover Country Club, students will be able to rent sleds, tubes, warm clothing, snowshoes, microspikes for hiking and cross-country skis during the day for free.

And . . .

Students will also be able to access socially distanced chairs located around gas fire pits and heaters around campus. According to deputy director of the Collis Center Joe Castelot, there will be four heaters or fire pits around Collis, six around the Winter Activities Center at the golf course and two located on the Green, with each heater surrounded by four socially distanced Adirondack chairs.

Green Alert Take: They might want to wait a few more days before filling those rinks. Today's high temperature in Hanover is expected to be 39 degrees and tomorrow could top out at 41. Not until Tuesday is the daily high expected to be below freezing.

EXTRA POINT
Because we weren't traveling to visit family at Christmas this year, Mrs. BGA and her sisters in Massachusetts and New Jersey cooked up a plan whereby we would send off decorated and Danish cookies to the other families, a second sister would share her eagerly anticipated dark-chocolate covered pretzels, and the third would send along her famous fudge.

We received the pretzels and fudge before Christmas and our cookies made it to Massachusetts in time for the holidays.

The cookies that Mrs. BGA put in the U.S. Mail for New Jersey?

They were postmarked Dec. 14.

And when did they arrive?

Yesterday.
