Heading This Way

Scroll down a bit in this story to find the photo below and brief capsule about Dartmouth-bound quarterback Jackson Proctor of Kentwood HS in Washington.

Proctor tossed TD passes of 51 and 12 yards last night as Kentwood held off Auburn Riverside, 35-34. Kentwood improved to 3-1 with two games remaining.

In honor of baseball's opening day Dartmouth football posted a Tweet with photos from the Big Green's games against Brown at Fenway Park in 2017 and against Princeton at Yankee Stadium in 2019. Dartmouth came away from the diamond doubleheader with a 2-0 mark.
Today's New Hampshire at Rhode Island spring football game has been postponed and "a decision on rescheduling the game will be made at a later date."

The Wildcats played host to Albany on March 5 before seeing games against Delaware, Villanova and now Rhode Island postponed. Remaining on their schedule are Stony Brook next Saturday in Durham and a trip to Maine one week later.

To give you an idea how crazy spring football has been, UNH is 0-1. By way of contrast The Citadel will play at Wofford today trying to avoid an 0-10 start.

Elsewhere among Dartmouth's 2021 fall opponents, Valparaiso (2-1) is slated to play at Drake (1-1) today.

Sacred Heart is scheduled to finish up the spring with an appearance next Sunday in the NEC “championship game” against Duquesne.

From a Sacred Heart release about that rematch against a team it lost to, 30-27, in its spring opener (LINK):

The matchup was formalized after the application of NEC postseason qualification and tiebreaker procedures once the regular season came to a close with the announcement that Wagner's games against Sacred Heart and Merrimack would not be made up. The Seahawks were unable to meet the league's minimum roster requirements due to COVID-19 protocols.

By the way, looking at the Sacred Heart website something caught my eye. I've capitalized six letters in the Sacred Heart web address to make it easier to see: www.shuBIGRED.com.

Green Alert Take: I suppose if I were Dartmouth I wouldn't be thrilled if another college athletic program in the northeast decided to throw a few letters in front of biggreen.com ;-)

EXTRA POINT
It was 12 degrees when I walked Griff the Wonder Dog this morning. And, no, it's not April 1. Nor is it Jan. 1, although it sure feels like it.
