Among FCS schools that have already reported and started preseason practice is Jacksonville State. From a story about the Gamecocks getting going (LINK):
Just 94 days after concluding their spring season in the FCS Playoffs, the Jacksonville State football team was back on the turf at Burgess-Snow Field Tuesday for the opening day of fall camp.
And . . .
The atmosphere around the stadium was more of a continuation of much of the same, as opposed to finding a completely new rhythm, as is often the case on day one. JSU was one of the few teams nationally to play in both the fall and spring semesters last season.
Jacksonville State was 3-1 last fall, defeating Florida International on Oct. 23 in its final game. It returned to the field with a win over Tennessee State on Feb. 28 and played through a May 2 loss to Delaware.

FootballScoop has a story headlined, NCAA releases COVID-19 guidance for fall sports; Unvaccinated personnel will undergo a regular testing regiment (sic), while the vaccinated won\"t be tested unless circumstances demand it. From the story (LINK):
In short, the NCAA recommends not testing fully vaccinated Tier 1 individuals -- basically: players and anyone that comes into contact with players, including game officials -- unless circumstances require a test. For the unvaccinated, schools are instructed to test upon returning to campus and to conduct regular surveillance testing.

Lil Red last week |
EXTRA POINT
As much as I love our '84 VW camper, I'm not what you would call a car guy. Far from it.
That said, it wasn't easy to watch our cherry red 2016 Honda Fit head out of our driveway for the final time last evening. With our new EV we had to sell the Fit and I was thrilled that the young family who bought it seemed so pleased with their purchase. (I suppose it didn't hurt that the fellow was head coach of boarding/day school football team ;-)
Still, "Lil Red" had been a wonderfully dependable car with a mind-boggling amount of space in its hatchback and I'm going to miss it, car guy or not.
