Lots of Dartmouth-wear in this photo accompanying a story from a local North Jersey site about 6-foot-5, 215-pound tight end Chris Corbo of North Caldwell and West Essex High School "signing" with Dartmouth. Per the story Corbo had five TD catches among his 32 receptions for 452 yards and also starred on defense. (LINK)

From a story headlined, Syracuse Football Won Big in the Offseason (LINK):
SU used its enticing pitch to snag serious talents like DB Bralyn Oliver (Louisville), RB Juwaun Price (New Mexico State), WR CJ Hayes (Michigan State), DB Alijah Clark (Rutgers), and most recently CB Isaiah Johnson (Dartmouth). amongst others. All five of these players can start right away or will start in a few seasons. More importantly, each of these transfers have the potential to make an impact and aren’t simply just a throwaway scholarship.

A sign of the times: FootballScoop has a story headlined, The effort to classify all FBS football players as employees is underway (LINK).
Speaking of which . . .
Spotted this regarding Name, Image, Likeness on a college football website (and I blurred out the phone number because posting it here is not intended to be an advertisement):

EXTRA POINT
As someone who has sat through sometimes contentious daily budget meetings discussing what stories belong in the newspaper and where, I find myself questioning the decision by NBC Nightly News to dedicate so much of its newscast to the Winter Olympics. It is troubling that a property the network has bought, and from which it stands to make a profit, seems to have affected its news judgment.
Look, I'm not a Grinch. I get that the Olympics are newsworthy, but having a lengthy Olympic report at the top of the broadcast each night, sometimes sprinkling in another from the Games, and closing it with yet another feels a lot more like a commercial for that night's wall-to-wall Olympic programming on the network than it does a serious look at what is happening in the country and around the world.
Note to Mrs. BGA: I'll try not to bring it up again tonight.
End of rant.
