Saw a Tweet that Dartmouth football is looking for a "Manager of Creative Content/Services." (LINK)
So, what does that person do? Glad you asked. The ad said the purpose of the position is . . .
To conceptualize, oversee, and execute all aspects of the program’s digital content strategy.
Work both independently and within a team to produce and deliver content using a variety of mediums and channels with the result of driving brand growth and engagement.
Turns out Dartmouth is hardly alone in looking for someone with those interests and skills. Check these job listings out. They are all for "content creators" of some sort and were posted just like this (LINK):
. . . “to consider a proposal that would allow FBS teams to hold NFL-style joint practices, beginning with the 2022 season. The practice would occur within the existing training camp schedule, established last year: i.e., one of the 18 allowable practices, and no more than 75 minutes of full contact.”

Green Alert Take: If the NCAA gives that the green light and it filters down to the FCS Dartmouth coach Buddy Teevens and Harvard coach Tim Murphy would be able to resume the preseason scrimmaging they had done until several years ago.

The Big South and Ohio Valley football conferences saw 10 schools depart their combined ranks since last fall, leaving both in jeopardy of failing to have a quorum for participating in the FCS playoffs next year. Their solution? They are doing the Brady Bunch thing and will become one big, happy family, at least for a few years. Find the story HERE.
Green Alert Take: I was going to write something along the lines of, "Isn't it nice Ivy League football teams don't have to worry about schools leaving the conference?" Of course, when it comes to the FCS playoffs it doesn't matter, right? Ivy League teams aren't allowed to go to the playoffs anyway. Thanks a heap for saving everyone from worrying about that, Ivy League presidents!

EXTRA POINT
The search for a "Manager of Creative Content/Services" for Dartmouth football had me thinking that's the kind of job I would have been excited about when I was a kid.
Let's see. You need to have a passion for sports and creativity.
I still remember in seventh grade English class when Mrs. Kirch asked us to write a short story. I turned in a story about a young minor league shortstop being brought up to the major leagues and playing his first game at shortstop for the New York Yankees.
The player's name was Ecurb Poom.
Good old Mrs. Kirch liked the story, but one of the comments she wrote in red ink on the cover page of the story was that it would have been better if I had used a more realistic name for my protagonist.
I never bothered to tell her Ecurb is Bruce backwards.
And Poom is Wood upside down ;-)
Kind of shows a passion for sports and a little creativity, doncha think?
