A reminder that Dartmouth kicks off its 12 spring practices tomorrow at 5 p.m..  As always, BGA Premium will be there and a story will be posted that night. Given that practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays are an hour later than in the fall (and the BGA World Headquarters is 25 or so miles north of campus) stories will still be posted the same night as the practice but might go up later than during the fall.

The guess here is a lot of you have forgotten your password since the end of the 2021 season, but you are in luck because BGA Premium has a "forgot" password functionality. When you click on it you'll be walked through getting going once again. Access BGA Premium HERE.

Sign-up for the 2022 BGA Premium cycle will begin in early July.

If you intend to sign up at that point but would like access now, drop me an email via the contact form over to the right and I'll get you going.

A reminder, practices are slated for Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings with the spring "game" on May 7.

With major league baseball starting this week one of two former Dartmouth pitchers in the big leagues is on the move. From the Associated Press (LINK):

The Miami Marlins solidified their bullpen by acquiring left-hander Tanner Scott and right-hander Cole Sulser from the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday night for two minor leaguers, a player to be named later and a draft pick. . . .

Sulser, 32, went 5-4 with a 2.70 ERA last season. He struck out 73 in 63⅓ innings and had eight saves for Baltimore.

Sulser '12 is joined in the big leagues by classmate Kyle Hendricks '12, the Chicago Cubs right-hander. Hendricks will get the ball for the ball Thursday as the Cubbies' opening-day starter for the third year in a row. (LINK)

EXTRA POINT
Twice when I was assistant sports editor at the local daily I had the opportunity to cover the Masters at Augusta National. Once I worked the internet and arranged with a local business to rent out a parking spot for my '84 VW Westfalia camper in their lot almost directly across Washington Road from the main entrance to the club and used that as both my overnight accommodations and office. It was a long drive down but made for quite an adventure.

The VW is out of hibernation but won't be heading to Georgia this week. In fact, it's not heading anywhere until the weather warms and we slap the insurance back on it. In the meantime, it's a reminder both of a memorable trip to Augusta and of summer adventures yet to be had.

In case you are wondering, we bought the poptop camper 28 year ago this spring. It has a fridge, sink and stove and sleeps two downstairs and two upstairs when the top is popped. It never had a nickname until it was christened "Wiffle" at a bus gathering last summer after a few unrepentant hippies we were parked near marveled at the similarity its faded yellow paint had to the color of the wiffle ball bat they couldn't remember why they bought when they were stocking up on food for their camping weekend.
