A Look Ahead And A Look Back

First a look ahead with three schools formally announcing their incoming recruiting classes:

Brown

Harvard

Penn

Dartmouth's class hasn't been officially released but I've confirmed the class posted earlier HERE is accurate and complete.

#

And now for that look back. Here are last fall's Ivy League statistical leaders keeping in mind the NCAA requirement of appearing in 75 percent of a team's games to be listed. (Best viewed on a computer). It's not the first time I have wished the Ivy League would include a player's year in the stats. What we do know is of the QBs listed, only Columbia's Joe Green and Yale's Nolan Grooms are returning. (Grooms was mistakenly left off as a returner previously but will be a junior in the fall.)

EXTRA POINT
Two interesting (to me at least ;-) notes from this morning's hike.

First, at the summit of the mountain I spent a few minutes observing three huge birds rising majestically on thermals almost at eye level over the valley below. When it finally occurred to me to get out my iPod to record them on video just one remained. I clicked and swiped to get the video app going and hit record just as the last of the birds was gliding out of view. I'd gladly post the video here except for one thing. The camera had somehow been reversed and instead of the bird I had a two-second selfie of my disbelieving eyeball before I quickly hit the red record button to stop filming. To quote former PGA Tour golfer Roberto De Vicenzo, What a stupid I am.

Second, I came around a bend and was startled by a porcupine in the middle of the trail. It took a second for me to realize the poor thing was dead. I'll be interested to see if it's still there tomorrow morning or if someone or something had carried it off.
