Camp Town

Dartmouth ran its Camp with the Champs the last three days and though it was hot the weather cooperated on the whole. Given what it's doing outside right now – heavy rain – I'm thinking they lucked out with the schedule. The next camps in Hanover are July 7, 8 and 9 as well as July 15 and 16.

With the camp season underway, the Big Green rolled out this photo on its social media:

Green Alert Take:
It would appear either the Ivy League championship trophy is absolutely huge or that's a helmet sized for a squirrel. OK, I've seen the trophy many times and that block "D" is pretty big so I'm pretty sure the helmet would fit the guy below if he has the grades and wants to transfer:

EXTRA POINT
That Certain Dartmouth '14 Facetimed last evening and reported that she was feeling no significant after-effects from her 50-mile San Juan Solstice race in Colorado Saturday. Her time of 12 hours, 55 minutes and 13 seconds put her into the top half of the finishers, albeit barely, less than three weeks after a positive COVID test set back her training.

Even if you cover the entire 50 miles you are required to cross the line in 16 hours to be considered a "finisher." TCD'14 told us about a woman who finished in 15 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.

Think about that.

After 50 grueling miles, more than 12,000 feet of climbing, and scrambling over a peak at 13,334 feet, if the woman had taken even a couple more seconds it wouldn't have counted!
