It's now official:
I'd like to thank @CoachDuzzPittFB for this incredible opportunity I have been granted. With that being said, I will be committing to the University of Pittsburgh as a graduate transfer! #HailToPitt pic.twitter.com/RnEWmRwBhk

There are stories galore out of Pittsburgh about DK adding depth at Pitt: LINK, LINK, LINK.
Green Alert Take: What the stories don't mention is that in addition to his 18-2 record as a starter Dartmouth was 27-3 over Kyler's varsity career, and he had a key role in most of the wins – even when he wasn't officially listed as a starter. It's too bad he wasn't in Pittsburgh for spring ball, but don't count Kyler out as being something more than an insurance policy.

HERO Sports is doing its 2022 FCS Jersey Countdown: and has a nice writeup honoring Dartmouth receiver Paxton Scott as The Best Player Who Wears No. 86. (LINK)
Green Alert Take: It's a cool honor but kind of funny because Scott switched to No. 7 this spring ;-)

Even though I know the local daily is short on personnel I'm flabbergasted that the newspaper has nothing today about Dartmouth announcing Mike Harrity as its now athletic director. Not even the reproducing the press release.
While there are a lot of blurbs about Harrity's appointment in other outlets, most of them don't include much beyond what was in the Dartmouth release.
The Wichita Eagle had a story earlier this month headlined A list of 5 potential candidates for Wichita State to hire as new athletic director that included a note that gives a little more insight into where Harrity's focus has been:
Harrity earned a reputation for fundraising at Notre Dame, where he spent the majority of his time from 2013-20 as the senior associate athletic director and as a member of the executive team. He has since expanded his duties at Army, where he leads the daily operations of external units centered around development, ticketing, strategic communications, licensing and branding. He also leads the school’s sports medicine, strength and conditioning and performance nutrition program and he also serves as the sport administrator for men’s basketball, football and men’s lacrosse.

Steelers Depot confirms that with Mark Sadkowski being named the team's Director of Player Scouting two members of the "Teevens Tree" will be united in Pittsburgh. From the story (LINK):
(General Manager Omar) Khan and Sadkowski have a long friendship. Both men started their football careers at Tulane University under head coach Buddy Teevens.

A writer who clearly has a lot more imagination than understanding of the Ivy League has a piece headlined How NIL Could Turn Ivy League Schools into Sport Powerhouses. From the story (LINK):
Imagine if Princeton basketball received an additional $1M/year from a NIL collective to go out and get 2-3 of the top players in the country.
They would take over the Ivy League, have the chance to compete for a March Madness title, and force other schools such as Dartmouth and UPenn to raise similar money or get left behind.
Green Alert Take: I'm sure looking forward to Dartmouth competing for that March Madness title alongside North Carolina, Michigan, UCLA and Princeton. How about you?

EXTRA POINT
We have an inexpensive indoor-outdoor thermometer from Oregon Scientific that shows not just the current temperature and the high/low over a 24-hour period, but uses the barometric pressure to predict the weather. (Pretty accurately if the truth be told.)
Across the top of the screen the thermometer features a simple graphic indicating whether in 12 hours it will be clear, partly cloudy, overcast or rainy.
We can all look at our computers or phones (or in at least one case our iPod Touch ;-), or check in with the Weather Channel at all hours to see the forecast. Still, there's something very satisfying in walking past our little thermometer and seeing the graphic on the screen showing a sun or, as it did when I went to bed last night, clouds spitting out rain and seeing the rain fall this morning.
