Dartmouth running back Zack Bair (169 rushing yards, one TD)) and linebacker Macklin Ayers (team-high 11 tackles and a pass breakup in his first career start) were selected to the Ivy League honor roll for their play in the first week of the season.
Harvard, which rallied to beat heavy underdog Merrimack in overtime, had both the offensive and defensive players of the week in running back Aidan Borguet and defensive end Nate Leskovec. Princeton had the special teams player of the week in punter Will Powers, and the rookie of the week in running back Ryan Butler.

Bair, not Borguet, was one of eight players to be an honorable mention pick for the FedEx Ground FCS National Offensive Player of the Week per The Analyst. (LINK).

Jake Novak of the Roar Lions blog looks around the Ivy League after the opening weekend and offers up some interesting First Week Thoughts that include this (LINK):
Dartmouth looked very efficient in its win over Valparaiso, especially after some serious injuries and other surprise emergency needs from the O-line to the kicking game. But like Columbia after it's easy takedown of Marist, it's a bit hard to judge just where the Big Green are after beating an opponent like Valpo.

Here's a note worth noting: Ivy League went 7-1 first week of the season. Only loss was Yale to an FCS ranked Holy Cross team. Pretty cool.
— John Feinstein (@JFeinsteinBooks) September 19, 2022
Green Alert Take: The Ivy League prohibiting football from competing in the NCAA playoffs while allowing every other sport to compete for a national championship is indefensible. It has been suggested that the best way to change that would be to have a prominent national media voice publicly hold the Ivy League presidents' fingers in the toaster until they, at the very least, offer for the first time a reasonable explanation for discriminating against one group of student-athletes. John Feinstein, who has shown great admiration in his work for the Patriot League, Army, Navy and Ivy League athletes might be just the person to bang that drum. Anyone want to DM him?

EXTRA POINT
I watched my share of football during the weekend and think it would be great if Jake from State Farm and Lily from AT&T rode off into the sunset together.
