This is a little misleading because we didn't have much snow and the field is completely cleared, but it's still an interesting look from last night's practice:

This should be a great game, with the Big Green pulling it out late.

It's always great to see a former Dartmouth player doing special things in his community. Onetime linebacker Andy Silvernail '94 has committed to providing $2 million toward scholarships for kids from the area in Maine where he grew up. He told TV station WABI, “College and tech school, those things are all expensive these days and we want to help with that in any way we can and allow those dreams to happen. If you want to be a teacher, or a CEO. If you want to be an electrician or a caregiver - we want this to be open to an incredible spectrum of people.” (LINK)

EXTRA POINT
With the local bear population (hopefully) denned up for the winter, a couple of days ago I dug out our bird feeder and seed left over from last year. Refilling the bird feeder on our little side porch, I spilled some seed and rather than try to pick it all up, grabbed a broom and swept it onto the driveway.

For two days now we've had birds regularly stopping by the driveway for a bite, and even hopping onto the porch to dig out seed nestled in cracks that the broom didn't catch.

The bird feeder? It's loaded but I've yet to see a single bird land on it. Go figure.
