Looking Back

It's the final day of 2022 so what better time to take a look back at how Ivy League football teams have fared over their last five seasons?

3. Yale – 36-14
4. Columbia – 30-20
5. Harvard – 29-21
6. Penn – 28-22

Green Alert: Raise your hand if you thought before the 2017 season that over the next five seasons Columbia would have a better overall record than Harvard. OK, put your hand down because you are fibbing. ;-)

Still on the end-of-year theme, here is what Reeves Guyton, the Dartmouth football program's "manager of creative content/services," pulled together for what he calls a "cinematic reel" after his first season in Hanover:

EXTRA POINT
I gave That Certain Nittany Lion '16 a year's subscription to The Athletic for Christmas.

To activate the account required going to the website for The Athletic and entering the provided "gift code." That's where things got interesting.

While I'm sure it was innocent, after starting with a "J" the gift code emailed to me in a "card" to share spelled out what might be the foulest word in the English language followed by three letters that turned it into something 12-year-old boys might call each other. There were two more letters at the end, but with what was in the middle they barely got any notice.

To be sure, the code was generated randomly by computer but c'mon, there are a few letter sequences that really should be disallowed.
