While the first big recruiting weekend of January saw a Tweet that Dartmouth had added no fewer than seven commitments to the class, only one has gone public as of this writing.
Add to the early decision recruiting list the name of Hilton Hebert IV, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound all-district defensive end/outside linebacker from Morgan City High School in Louisiana. Here's his Tweet:
COMMITTED ! GO BIG GREEN 🇳🇫 💚🌲@DartmouthFTBL @dartmouthsports @BTeevens @headdogpound @WendyLaurent55 pic.twitter.com/sD2N4APjc4

A quick look at Hebert's Twitter does not show any other DI offers although it does reveal several offers from schools in the deep south.

In the "goings" category, running back Zack Bair's Twitter doesn't include an announcement of his intentions but his Linkedin has him beginning MBA studies at Robert Morris, the Big South school outside of Pittsburgh. Likewise, nickel Seth Verilus doesn't have a splash announcement on his Twitter about heading to Robert Morris, but it does include the line "Dartmouth College Alum • RMU." Both Bair and Verilus had previously Tweeted about recruiting trips to the school in the Pittsburgh suburb of Moon Township.
While Bair had completed his Ivy League eligibility as a fifth-year senior last fall, Verilus would seem to be in line for both a medical redshirt season after playing just four games in 2022, and his COVID super senior season at Robert Morris if he so chooses.
The Colonials, who struggled through a winless season in 2022, will be looking for their first winning season since 2019 this fall when they open at Air Force.

Senior Noah Roper's Twitter isn't definitive about where he might be headed, but the running back from Colorado who had expressed an interest in returning to his home state has Tweeted a picture of himself in a Colorado School of Mines uniform HERE. Mines made it to the DII national championship game in Texas last fall. The Orediggers finished the season 13-3.

Former Dartmouth linebacker Jalen Mackie is scheduled to play for the National team in the Tropical Bowl in Orlando Saturday at 4 p.m. Mackie finished his career at UMass last fall, leading the Minutemen with 100 tackles.
Other players in the 8th Tropical Bowl who might be of interest to Dartmouth and Ivy League fans include Princeton receiver Dylan Classi, former Holy Cross quarterback Connor Degenhardt, who completed his career at New Haven, and former Sacred Heart punter Noah Gettman, who finished up at Akron.
The game is not slated for broadcast other than via a pay-per-view feed.

EXTRA POINT
That Certain Dartmouth '14 has started her new position at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah and has taken advantage of January's snows by regularly heading out on her cross country skis. This Strava posting of her latest cross country loop and pictures she shot is headlined appropriately ;-)
