All that said, the tradition of "signing" is hard to give up and so there will still be celebrations at high schools around the country today. Although the Ivy League does not officially participate (because it does not use the Letter of Intent), players headed to the Ancient Eight usually sign something unofficial so as to be able to participate alongside their classmates who in fact are signing official documents.
Over the course of Signing Day, BGA Daily used to post perhaps a dozen to 15 or more photos of players celebrating with their families, but the December date changed all that. If I recall correctly, a request for photos last year brought just one, with several others being screenshots off Twitter or school websites.
Two days before Groundhog Day I'm going to try one more time and invite you to share photos and links that I can post here. If you have something to send along (and it's all fine and dandy rules-wise) CLICK HERE. That will address an email to me with the subject line, SigningDay. Then just attach a photo or share a link.

Welcome to February! Given the calendar change, I thought to check when Dartmouth football would be starting spring practice in the off chance it was in the final week of March. If that were the case, I could write, "Spring practice begins next month."
Alas, they will miss by just a bit.
Barring a change, the first of Dartmouth's allowable 12 days of spring practice will be on Tuesday, April 4. The spring game is tentatively scheduled for the morning of May 6.

Green Alert Take: Kinda wish that in addition to the "up close and personal" highlights they had shown us a few real plays from a higher camera angle to give us a better feel for the game.
Green Alert Take II: A few Ivy League stadiums could take a hint from Japan and paint seats piano key-style different colors. Even when a facility is largely empty it doesn't feel that way.

Regarding former Dartmouth linebacker Jalen Mackie, who had 100 tackles this year for UMass:

EXTRA POINT
This is from the Newbury, Vt. weather forecast found HERE. That line before the 19 is not a dash. It's a minus sign ;-)
