Dartmouth freshman placekicker Owen Zalc is this week's Ivy League football Rookie of the Week after hitting field goals of 26 and 35 yards and going 4-for-4 on extra points in the win over Lehigh.
Named to the weekly honor roll were tailback Q Jones, corner Leo St. Gourin and safety Sam Koscho. Jones had 99 yards and a touchdown on the ground and 21 yards on five catches through the air, St. Gourdin had six tackles and a forced fumble, and Koscho had a blocked punt.

Do scroll down and read what Peter King pulled together about Buddy Teevens in his Football Morning in America column. King let readers know what was coming deeper into his column by writing:
Buddy Teevens. Every coach, and every fan who cares about the future of the game, needs an education about the late Dartmouth football coach. You’ll get it in this column.
He then included remembrances from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Peyton Manning, former Dartmouth great Jack Traynor '19, LA Rams vice president Tony Pastoors '10, Callie Brownson, the Cleveland Browns assistant, and Chris Nowinski, the onetime Harvard football player and CEO of the Concussion Legacy Foundation.

Green Alert Take: Honestly, I can't help you in figuring out what "LVAAC/TVN Game asst." is, but an Ivy League guy at the top, two more Ivies and one from New Hampshire is pretty impressive.

Notre Dame has earned a commitment from one of the best long snappers in the nation. This story notes that he chose Notre Dame over a "scholarship offer from Boston College. Connecticut, Dartmouth, Harvard, Michigan, North Carolina, Penn State and Virginia also expressed interest in him. He visited each one of those campuses."
His name? Joe Vinci. And if that name sounds familiar, yup, his father is Joe Vinci '02, the former Dartmouth long snapper. The new Irish commit's old man gets a mention in this story:
Vinci's father played collegiately at Dartmouth College and was a long snapper before they were specialists. More than 20 years later, Vinci started going to long snapping camps and became truly special at it.

When I was a kid I'd play 500 or hit-the-bat on the baseball field for hours and hours. By summer's end my favorite baseball hat would be faded almost beyond recognition. The sun will do that, which is why every sunny day for the past several weeks I've been putting one of my favorite white caps out where it gets rays all day. The thing was sweat-stained ugly and just about ready to be tossed before a 24-hour soaking in Shout, a little bleach during a turn in the washing machine and now a few weeks in the sun have it looking almost new. The sun may have ruined more than a few hats back in the days when I'd use a baseball card to get the front panel to stand up straight, but it's doing a marvelous job saving this one.
