Harvard 38, No. 5/6 Holy Cross 20
In a major stunner, Crimson quarterback Charles DePrima completed just 9-of-20 passes for 151 yards but two went for touchdowns and he added 89 yards rushing to help his team get out to a 3-0 start this fall. Crimson receiver Cooper Barkate had five catches for 73 yards and one touchdown and run for another. Holy Cross (3-2) quarterback Matthew Sluka tossed four touchdowns but was picked off three times including one that was returned for a touchdown. A crowd of 7,906 watched the game at the home of the minor league Red Sox minor league affiliate in Worcester.
Brown 42, Central Connecticut 20
Jake Willcox completed 26-of-39 passes for 386 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bears (2-1) to the win in front of 1,426 in Providence. Wes Rockett had eight catches for 148 yards and one score for Brown. Leading at the half, 21-13, the Bears put the game away with a 21-7 third quarter marred only by an 82-yard scoring run by the Blue Devils, now 1-3.
Colgate 35, Cornell 25
Properity didn't wear well for the Big Red, which fell to previously winless Colgate one week after knocking off Ivy League favorite Yale. Cornell led 17-14 entering the fourth quarter only to see the Raiders put together a 97-yard drive that gave them a 21-17 lead they would not relinquish. The game drew 12,525 to Schoellkopf Field.
Yale 45, Morgan State 3
Off to an 0-2 start the Bulldogs took it out on Morgan State before 7,960 at the Bowl. Nolan Grooms went 29-for-38 with four touchdowns and ran for 87 yards. Mason Tipton caught nine passes for 136 yards with two scores. Yale had 521 yards of total offense to the visitors' 204 and also had a 36-yard pick six by Joseph Vaughn. The game drew 7,960 to Yale Bowl.
Towson 54, UNH 51 (2 ot)
Towson quarterback Nathan Kent threw five touchdown passes and the Tigers ran for 309 yards as they erased a 41-30 fourth-quarter deficit. A 90-yard Towson drive capped by a 15-yard TD pass with 24 seconds left sent the game to overtime. After the teams traded field goals in the first OT the visitors won with a TD run in the second. Both teams are now 2-3. Attendance in Durham was 13,544.
Monmouth 49, Lehigh 7
Monmouth racked up 619 yards of total offense including four touchdown passes by Sacred Heart grad transfer Marquez McCray, who completed 22-of-38 throws for 333 yards. Lehigh allowed two 100-yard rushers while falling to 1-4. Monmouth improved to 2-3 in front of 3,266 fan.
