More On The Film

A little longer trailer for the new film The Buddy Way:

The film debuted last night in New York City in front of an audience that included Peyton and Eli Manning, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, Bill Cowher, Ryan Fitzpatrick and former Dartmouth quarterback Jay Fiedler.

Find a story about the premier on the Sports Business Journal page HERE.

The documentary will debut on ESPN2 on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Curiously, several sites are referring to it as a Netflix documentary (LINK).

Former Dartmouth offensive lineman Michael Flores '23 –  the third Flores brother to play for the Big Green – will be the second to grad transfer to Louisville after spending the last two years at Old Dominion (redshirting his first season). Older brother John Paul '22 graduated from Dartmouth, played one season at Virginia, then another at Louisville and just completed a year at Liberty.

From a story about Michael Flores (LINK):
The 6-foot-3, 310-pound center started all 12 games for Old Dominion this season, and was arguably their best lineman of the year. In 435 pass block snaps and 839 blocking snaps overall, Flores gave up only three sacks and 17 total quarterback pressures. He also helped ODU lead the Sun Belt in rushing yards at 209.8 per game.

A story posted on one of the SI sites under the headline Ivy League Declines NIL Revenue Sharing Amidst House Settlement Changes; The Ivy League has opted out of NIL revenue sharing under the House v. NCAA settlement, reinforcing its commitment to academics over athletics as other conferences weigh their options offers a little more insight on the Ivy League's direction in the pay-for-play era. Something that occurred to me with a recent change in the Dartmouth football coaching staff:

With press guides a thing of the past, web pages are essentially historical documents. To not include Aashon Larkins as secondary coach of the 2024 Big Green team is historically inaccurate. OK, he moved on but he was part of the 2024 team and should not be removed from that roster.

Ten years from now someone researching last fall's championship team would have no way of knowing who coached the secondary if the web page is the only historical record.

And ditto if anyone else from the staff moves on and his/her name is removed.

End of rant.

On the way back from my hike a couple of days ago the alpenglow was such that I had to pull the car over and grab a shot of Moosilauke:
