That headline up there? Wait for it . . .
First, here’s an NFL Draft Diamonds interview with Chris Corbo, Dartmouth’s All-America tight end.
Dartmouth's a great spot. It's not big. It’s in the middle of nowhere. The thing about it is, you can talk to anyone on campus no matter where they came from, no matter who they are, no matter what they like or don't like, and feel like you've known the person. The campus, everyone is so nice. Everyone really just appreciates each other. It is such a small school and such a small campus that the odds are you're probably going to walk past everyone that is in the school in the school year. So it's really just like a big friendly neighborhood.A lot of the townies are very incorporated into the campus walking through. You get to know people you walk by and they see you wearing Dartmouth stuff and they love talking to you, saying we love what you guys are doing. You guys are doing great. So, yeah, Dartmouth, if you want to go to a place where you really just feel safe and comfortable, and can just really be yourself, is a great place to go.
And now for the “times they are a-changin’ piece. The announcement regarding Chris Corbo’s representation even before he has started his senior season would have ended his college sports career not all that long ago. Now in a world of NIL and revenue sharing, it’s a logical next move:

EXTRA POINT
As a kid, I was a big fan of Superman TV reruns with George Reeves in the title role. Understand, future me didn’t need YouTube to come along with a whole series of Superman Goofs to know it wasn’t exactly award winning TV. Far, far from it.
That said, I enjoyed the series enough that it was a hoot when I was in college and had a chance to ham it up reading reporter Clark Kent’s lines from a script alongside Noel Neill, who played Lois Lane in the series. Have I told you that story?
But I digress. Given my Superman history, yesterday I convinced Mrs. BGA to take in a late-afternoon matinee of the big guy’s new movie. It was a little rainy and there wasn’t much of anything worth watching on the tube, so why not? I’m not in any way a fan of Marvel movies with characters like Iron Man, Captain America and the rest, but this was about Superman and wouldn’t be like those other films, right? This would be a story-driven movie built around Clark and Lois, Jimmy Olsen and Perry White.
As Perry would say, great Caesar's ghost. Silly me.
While Rotten Tomatoes gave the new flick decent scores, I’ll take Sylvester P. Superman delivering a lemon meringue pie to Alaska and then leading the bad guy out of a Quonset hut on a mule in a 1955 episode of the TV series any day. ;-)
