Now in its 21st season, BGA Premium/BGA Overtime is an independent source of Dartmouth football news that features a daily blog 350-plus days a year as well as full coverage of the team from the start of preseason practice through the final game. It also includes coverage of spring football.
BGA's comprehensive overage of Dartmouth football in 2025 included 92 full-length stories and resulted in Bruce Wood being honored as the New Hampshire sportswriter of the year by his Granite State peers.
ABOUT BRUCE
Prior to starting what might be the most detailed coverage of any Football Championship Subdivision team in the nation, Bruce spent nearly two decades as the Dartmouth beat writer and assistant sports editor for the local daily paper, covering not just Big Green football but the entire athletic program.
He previously served as the sports editor of a daily newspaper in Pennsylvania and as assistant director of sports information at Dartmouth. The winner of numerous writing awards, he holds a masters degree in journalism from Penn State University. He and his wife - Mrs. BGA — are the proud parents of Dartmouth and Penn State graduates. Bruce lives in West Newbury, Vt., with his wife, and golden retriever Griff the Wonder Dog.
MORE ABOUT BGA
For the first 18 seasons of BGA Premium, the site was behind a paywall that over the final decade-plus charged readers $100 for access. The site provided on-site coverage of every practice and every game – home and away for 18 seasons without missing a single practice or game.
Two years ago, BGA converted to a donation model, taking down the password and allowing everyone free access to the site. While not every practice is covered anymore, BGA still posted 92 stories last fall, with stories appearing six days a week during the season. HOW YOU CAN HELP
Pulling BGA together is a lot of work. A conservative estimate would be that at least 700 hours a year go into researching and posting the daily blog over the course of a year. Now add in practice and game coverage, which mean countless 35-minute trips to Hanover, at least a couple of hours each day on campus, writing stories back home, and time/expenses that come with traveling to road games.
If you appreciate the content on BGA and the work that goes into producing it, please consider supporting the site either by sending along a check or via PayPal.
