Familiar Rivals Meet in Germany

The temporary goal posts against the backdrop of the cut-down visiting stands.

Former Dartmouth coach John Lyons and ex-Columbia quarterback Jeff Otis renewed acquaintances yesterday in Frankfurt, Germany. Otis threw a 19-yard touchdown pass on the first drive of the second half to help the Frankfurt Galaxy to a 21-14 win over the Cologne Centurions in NFL Europe action. Lyons is defensive coordinator the the Centurions, now 1-3. Otis was 4-for-11 for 31 yards for Frankfurt, which improved to 2-2. ... I had a chance to see Buddy Teevens at Dartmouth's windblown and chilly doubleheader sweep of Columbia yesterday on Red Rolfe Field and he sounded more than ready to get out on the field with his team in another week. ... After the offseason practices wrap up with the Green-White scrimmage on May 6, the coaches will head out for spring recruiting May 7-31.
