The Penn Quakers came out of spring practice with more questions than usual according to the Daily Pennsylvanian. The paper quotes coach Al Bagnoli:
"There's a lot of positions that we have to look at that are somewhat open. There's very few incumbent starters back that you would say have enough experience" to be virtual locks."
One of the biggest challenges at Princeton this year is rebuilding the offensive front. Coming out of spring practice, Coach Roger Hughes told the Princetonian:
"Building an offensive line is very challenging. We have a completely new offensive line. These guys haven't played a single snap together."Former coach John Lyons, now defensive coordinator of the Cologne Centurions, saw his NFL Europe team fall to 1-4 in Germany's version of Monday Night Football. The NFL Europe team stats are compiled in a strange way, but if I'm reading them right, Lyons' defense actually leads NFL Europe by a wide margin in completion percentage defense and is second in fewest yards allowed and third-down conversions. ... Bob Peters, former Dartmouth football player and president of Morality in Media, writes in this column about the use of the term "male sports culture," in coverage of the situation with Duke lacrosse. Green Alert introduced you to Peters last week in this posting.
