One Cool Kat

I missed this one the first time around but was tipped off by a friend. Derham Cato '05 played the final game of the regular season as an Offensive/Defensive lineman with the Arena Football League's Nashville Kats and is listed on their offseason roster. Derham had previously played with the Manchester Wolves of Arena Football 2.

Cato, who impressed scouts in an NFL Europe trial until being cut just before going overseas, reports he got a call from Nashville in Week 15 of the AFL season. After a two-day workout, he was signed to the practice squad. A week later, they signed him to a regular contract and he appeared in the last regular-season game of the year. He was inactive for the playoffs. (There's not much on his team bio, but you can find it here.)

Derham was in Hanover to work Coach Buddy Teevens' football camp and is back home in Charlotte, NC, now, coaching the D-line at his old high school and working out in preparation for his next training camp.

The Ivy League's official, 140-page football guide has been posted and is available for download here.

Second-week opponent UNH reports to camp Wednesday. Opening-week opponent Colgate reported yesterday and holds its first practice session today.
