"The only poll that matters to us is the one at the end of the season. Our players will read this, and from a League standpoint, that's how the media views Dartmouth football. As a group, Dartmouth football needs to address this. We'll present this to our players and they are intelligent young men. It will provide more inspiration and motivation."If you have the time and want to listen to interviews conducted by Sporting News Connecticut with all eight Ivy coaches, they can be heard by clicking here.
The Tampa Tribune has a well-done story about former Dartmouth defensive back John Owens, a lawyer-turned-agent. The story notes that Owens negotiated contracts for six rookie players this year.
The Tennesseean has a story about players in the Titans' camp from outside of the U.S. The writer used a few quotes from Casey Cramer, who spent a little time in Germany. The always-quotable Cramer told the paper he's ready to talk a little with one of his teammates from Munich under the right circumstances. Said Cramer:
"I am a little rusty. But after a German beer I can really start speaking a little more quickly. I am going to see if I can get him to get me some."We'll be off for Montreal in a few minutes. The trip was scheduled around Anthony Gargiulo's visit to the city with the Calgary Stampeders, but stuff happens and Gargiulo's ankle injury will keep him from coming East. We're still excited to see the game with the Alouettes. The kids have never been to an NFL game -- too expensive -- so they are psyched to catch a CFL game. We'll do all the usual touristy things in our three days north of the border including the famous boat ride on the rapids and the Biodome.
