Top 25 Votes? Yes, But ...

Breaking news out of UNH (shared by a couple of emailers) and it's not good: A backup quarterback on the school's football team has been charged with murder. LINK

I heard about this but first couldn't find the link and then forgot about it. Mea culpa and thanks to a subscriber for passing it along.

Dartmouth received 14 points in the FCS coaches poll (LINK), with Harvard, Penn and Holy Cross receiving one each and Colgate none.

OTHERS RECEIVING VOTES: So Dakota St 51, Delaware St 48, Alabama A&M 37, Liberty 33, Eastern Wash 28, Lafayette 25, Drake 21, Grambling 19, Northern Arizona 19, Princeton 19, Towson 19, Fordham 18, San Diego 16, Dartmouth 14, S Carolina St 14, Maine 13, Richmond 13, Lehigh 12, Alabama St 11, Missouri St 11, Indiana St 10, Villanova 9, Central Ark 8, Coastal Carolina 8, Northwestern St 5, Elon 4, UC Davis 3, The Citadel 2, Harvard 1, Holy Cross 1, Penn 1.
DROPPED OUT: No. 19 So Dakota St, No. 20 Coastal Carolina, No. 25 Princeton. Colgate received no votes.

Green Alert Take: If Dartmouth wins the first couple of games and gets votes, that's great. But, and it hurts to say it, getting voted well ahead of teams like Penn and Harvard -- before having played a game -- doesn't say a lot about how seriously the coaches are taking this thing.
